MonkeyHelper
Assisted Living Ecosystem
Service as seeding, relationship as support. A systematic redesign of non-profit social services — building a lifelong ecosystem integrating professional support and emotional connection, to enhance independence and social participation for people with mobility disabilities.
01 · The Challenge — The Coldness of Tools vs. The Warmth of Life
Traditional assistive tools are cold and lack emotional connection — unable to meet the continuous, individualized daily needs of people with disabilities.
At the same time, service users often face social isolation due to exclusion. Single, brief service interventions cannot provide lifelong, comprehensive support. We needed to upgrade from simply "providing tools" to a complete empowerment ecosystem covering emotional connection and community integration.
02 · The Solution — A Self-Sustaining Living System
Not a Product — An Ecosystem
We designed not a one-way product but a self-sustaining living system. The helper monkey is the medium of capability and the seed of emotion. The professional team are the gardeners. The community is the fertile soil. This system realizes the ideal paradigm of "core capability precision delivery, support network autonomous growth."
03 · Blueprint — Four-Dimensional Ecosystem
Relationship
Cultivating lifelong human-monkey bonds, and building mutual-aid communities to counter isolation.
Time & Space
"One-time training, lifelong service" model. Radiates from a single training center to users' homes — service becomes permanent.
Production
Non-profit model converting donations and professional expertise into measurable social value.
04 · Capabilities
Precision Matching & Training
Through in-depth needs research and up to 2 years of customized training, monkey skills are precisely matched to user requirements.

Settlement Delivery
A 5-7 day on-site handover period — trainers guide the process, ensuring the monkey and person build trust in a real-life environment.

Community Activation
Organizing offline events and building sharing mechanisms connects service users into a mutual-aid community — countering social exclusion.

Sustainable Operations
Building public trust through "center experience weeks" and outcome demonstrations — ensuring funding support for the non-profit system.

05 · Impact
Successfully expanded the concept of "animal assistance" into a carefully designed, supportive social ecosystem. The deep thinking about relationship dimensions and lifelong service model design directly informed later work at Alibaba on user growth systems and long-term value products — providing the underlying logic for "how to build deep user relationships and community-driven growth."
